The General Manager leads store operations in order to provide excellent customer service and maximize profits. Works to strengthen interdependencies between teams to ensure store operates as a cohesive unit. Builds an engaged high performance team culture in store that listens, understands and responds to employees and that consistently lives the Best Buy values in all aspects of employee and customer experience. Provides coaching & direction to store on consistent implementation & execution of company selling programs, customer services, operational processes & staffing models. Tracks local market trends, monitors key competitors and plans strategically to create growth, improve financial performance and gain competitive advantage.

• Perform Floor Manager duties as needed to increase employee engagement, customer experience and revenue opportunities (Manager on Duty and Sales Lead responsibilities)
• Monitor store performance to budget in Sales, Gross Margin, and review P&L
• Responsible for recruitment, training & development of employees
• Develop future leadership talent
• Coach employees on ways to maximize customer interactions and build long term customer relationships
• Recognize, praise & reinforce employee behaviours that align with BBY values

• 4+ years of retail leadership/management experience
• 2+ years of related experience in retail sales
• Retail or Business Management Degree preferred
