Golder has a new opportunity for an Entry-Level Risk Assessor to join our Contaminated Land group on a full-time basis in Melbourne. This is a new role in Golder's national team of toxicologists, risk assessors and environmental risk professionals. The successful candidate will work with senior professionals and be provided with opportunities for mentoring and technical development.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining and compiling chemical, biological and toxicological information
  • Reviewing scientific literature on ecological and health effects
  • Reviewing field-collected data on chemical concentrations in soil, groundwater and other environmental media
  • Undertaking quality assurance and validation data checking
  • Assisting with the preparation of human health and ecological risk assessment reports

Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in an environmental or related science (eg Bachelor or higher degree in environmental science, engineering, toxicology, biology, chemistry, ecotoxicology)
  • 1-2 years' experience in environmental regulation, environmental consulting or environmental research

Desirable characteristics:
  • Detail orientated and strong quantitation skills
  • Python, R, statistics or similar experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Team oriented
  • A keen interest in learning
