Job Description

  

Role: Software Development Engineer

Business Unit: Commercial

Location: Fareham

We are a world leader in high performance marine electronics for the recreational boating and light commercial marine markets. Our products are engineered to deliver the very best in visual navigation information and with a legacy of marine navigation technology spanning over 80 years, Raymarine products are renowned today for their ease-of-use, rugged design, and reliability. We are constantly innovating to deliver best-in-class sensors and intelligent navigation systems - making your time on the water safer and fun.

Our comprehensive range of marine electronics for both recreational boating and light commercial marine applications are available through a global network of dealers and distributors. Headquartered in Fareham UK, Raymarine is a division of  FLIR Systems , a world leader in thermal imaging.

Purpose:

To carry out embedded software development activities in C and C++ for marine products under the technical guidance of a technical authority.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of embedded software components in C and C++. 
  • Developing software for complex multi-threaded object oriented real time systems.
  • Development of user interfaces with QT.

Key Skills and Competencies required:
  • Embedded C++ programming
  • Object Oriented Design
  • Multi-threaded programming/RTOS
  • Software development processes and tools
  • Embedded systems
  • QT

Additional relevant skills:
  • Network Protocols

Responsibility for Confidential Information:

All project information is confidential.  Non-disclosure agreements must be signed before discussing confidential projects with external agents.

Education:

  • BSc/BEng in Electronic Engineering or similar discipline with at least a 2:1 honours
  • Good standard of A levels or equivalent
