Reporting to the Director, Indigenous Services and Access Programs, the incumbent develops and delivers Academic and Career Preparation (ACP) courses, both credit (Academic and Career Entrance) and non-credit. ACP is an upgrading program funded by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development through the Employment Ontario Literacy and Basic Skills envelope. ACP is designed to support individuals who need secondary-level skills and/or credentials to be successful in post-secondary, employment and apprenticeship. Currently, there is a need for faculty in the following subject: Communications, Math, Computers and Keys to Success. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment, both remotely and in person
• Developing and delivering courses, according to specific curriculum guidelines and course objectives
• Incorporating a variety of teaching and learning strategies to meet student needs
• Evaluating student progress and achievement
• Providing and documenting information for program and student reporting and tracking
• Participating in program and college activities as required


• Minimum three-year degree; Bachelor of Education or Masters degree in a related field preferred
• Experience teaching adults in a professional environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to life-long learning
• Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
• Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, Ontario Adult Learning Curriculum Framework and student success strategies
• Teaching and Training Adults certification is an asset
• Experience teaching adults remotely is an asset
