We are looking for a Project Coordinator to join our team in Ottawa! This position will be to initially join our project team working on the Zibi project in Ontario/Quebec.
You will be working on a project named Zibi, which is a new multi-residential development with a location that sits on the Ottawa River, bordering with both Ontario and Quebec. A top priority for this project is the engagement and partnership of the Algonquin Anishinabe, making for a collaborative approach unlike any other, with a commitment to improving the way Indigenous Peoples and non-Indigenous private sector companies work together. Modern Niagara is proud to be a member of this project team and contributing to this complex and highly specialized work. Modern Niagara (MN) is a reputed mechanical, electrical, plumbing contractor that operates across Canada.
Given this projects borders, the project work will be done on both Quebec and Ontario lands and will be ongoing for several years. Modern Niagara is seeking prospective candidates to support their work on the Zibi project, while simultaneously hiring for the future beyond the Zibi project.
Qualifications and Experience:
Modern Niagara is a construction contractor with specialisms in commercial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing works. This position is available and open to both skilled trades people with technical experience and knowledge, as well as those who have limited experience and/or are looking to start a career in the construction industry.
Of interest, but not required; Prior experience, training or interest in:
OR Pipe fitter;
OR project coordination, project management
Candidates may also have prior experience in general labour, with an interest to transition to the above fields within the operations team.
Ability to work in Quebec and/ or Ontario
Ability to speak French is an asset for this role, but not required
Driven, motivated, punctual.
