Job Description


Job Summary:

This position is responsible for leading and supervising designated US DoD Logistics Program(s) through completion, overseeing successful output. The Program Manager - Logistics manages the Logistics Program goals and objectives, while acting as a liaison between the Customer Logistics Leads, FLIR Program Manager and FLIR Logistics Team.  This position requires direct knowledge and expertise in US DoD Logistics Programs, and responsible for gathering integrated logistics and logistics related engineering data to support contract deliverables and perform supportability analyses (LSA/LMI, LORA, Provisioning Reports, SORA, FMECA etc.).  Individuals in this position must be an expert on DoD logistics / product support processes, equipment maintenance concept, provisioning, procedures, regulations, and MIL STDs. The Program Manager - Logistics must also be a highly organized, goal-oriented individual capable of preparing and tracking project and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables, schedules, and budgets.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide acquisition logistics management, planning, and coordination support on DoD Programs of Record
  • Responsible for executing acquisition logistics for the fielding of a deployable robotic system, developing and refining provisioning plans, provisioning technical documentation (PTD), and provisioning data products in support of PDR, CDR, Provisioning Conferences, Reliability Demonstration, Logistics Demonstrations, Technical Manual Validation/Verification, Test, and production.
  • Strategize and outline goals and objectives of the program
  • Estimate and implement program budgets
  • Set program controls/governance/standards
  • Monitor multiple projects through the entire program cycle
  • Manage the day-to-day detailed aspects of multiple projects
  • Set timelines for goal posts/due dates
  • Coordinate and use resources for multiple projects in the program
  • Manage and submit program documentation
  • Communicate with project team to address potential risks
  • Solve problems and issues
  • Track program progress
  • Communicate program objectives, goals, and progress to program team, upper management, and stakeholders
  • Organize cross-projects work within the program
  • Lead and mentor project staff and team members
  • Prepare and present progress and budget reports to program office
  • Assist team members when needed to accomplish team goals

Job Requirements:
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
  • 5+ years’ previous experience in defense program management, project management, or related field
  • Knowledgeable in defense program management methodology and techniques; performance evaluation and change management principles
  • Familiarity with all Integrated Logistics Support / Product Support elements, including transportation, packaging, training, technical manuals, maintenance planning, support equipment, RAM-T, etc. as well as knowledge of EVMS, IUID, MANPRINT, Hazardous Materials and Safety. 
  • Military/DoD logistics product experience, preferably with new product introduction and support is desired.
  • Strong organizational, project management and analytical problem-solving skills are desired.
  • Travel up to 15% domestic for events such as program reviews, provisioning conferences, log demo, TM verification, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or related field; Master’s in business or related field preferred
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of program/project management software (MS Project)
  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • 15%-20% domestic travel
