Tech and Application Support Analyst (Full time, Permanent)

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Reports to: IT Manager

Hiring Range: $60,000-64,000, including a benefits plan, pension plan, 3 weeks paid vacation and professional development opportunities

Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC) is a national non-profit organization that builds health, belonging and social justice in low-income communities across Canada through the power of food. We provide ideas, resources and a proven approach to partner organizations so they can establish responsive, financially stable Community Food Centres that support people to grow, cook, share, and advocate for good food for all. CFCC also works with the broader food movement to build greater capacity and to empower communities to work toward a healthy and fair food system. CFCC has embarked on a $50M national campaign to develop community food centres in 20 communities across Canada, innovate new approaches to addressing food insecurity and advocate for positive change for low-income communities.

CFCC is seeking an Tech and Application Support Analyst is responsible to ensure CFCC’s technical infrastructure and cloud technologies suits our needs and functions securely and efficiently.  This role is also responsible for helpdesk support. Additionally, this position takes lead on projects where a new application is needed or to enhance the use of a current application.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage network, infrastructure and cloud technologies ensuring internet stability, regular data backup, appropriate security and firewalls, latest firmware upgrades, and hardware optimization.

  2. Lead on projects (i.e. application, tools) and work with all stakeholders (mostly internal) to identify requirements, research options and roll out the implementation. 

  3. Ensure appropriate licences, settings and permissions on all systems, eg Google suite, Box, DropBox, Zoom, Team viewer or remote access tool and other technologies.

  4. Help desk support for hardware (computers, photocopier, etc.), software, networking and telephone.

  5. Support departments with database reporting needs. 

  6. Document user processes and related training for organizational tools and applications.

  7. Maintain system security, and ensure user policies correspond to organization structure on desktop and cloud systems.

  8. Ensure systems and processes are compliant with CRA, data privacy and other regulatory requirements.

Key Relationships

  • Works closely with the others in the Operations team

  • Works closely with the project leads of other departments

  • Works with key technical contractors as needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ years relevant work experience

  • Computer Science/Network Engineering, Information Technology or related education and work experience

  • Experience planning infrastructure and designing technical solutions for organizations, including phone systems

  • Experience managing multiple projects across stakeholders with demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into plain language

  • Proven track record supporting staff to successfully adopt and use new technologies.

  • Proficiency in Google suite or similar tools, MS Office, file storage systems

  • Good understanding of online security and cybersecurity implementation.

  • Experience working with Salesforce, Engaging Networks, Zoho, or similar CRM or database including data migrations, data cleansing, integrations, campaign testing and report customization an asset

  • Experience working with charitable, privacy and other legislative requirements.

  • Understanding of and desire to contribute to the mission of Community Food Centres Canada
