Job Description

BBA is presently seeking a seasoned and experienced Business Affairs Manager to join the team as a strategic business development manager for our operations in BC. This is a rare opportunity to directly contribute to the company’s growth and development strategy. This role will focus and deliver on:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with our key corporate clients
  • Promoting and positioning the organization toward major projects opportunities
  •  Supervising customer relationship development and participating in the negotiation of terms and conditions for key accounts while considering the risk management of our business
  • Promoting BBA’s multidisciplinary services from preliminary studies to detailed design, technical support and full commissioning of new and existing assets

 Key Responsibilities

  •  Lead and manage business affairs activities
  •  Architect & formalize effective business development initiatives to position BBA favorably in regards of significant opportunities
  •  Build and maintain trusted working relationships with clients & various partners, across the breadth and depth of their organizations
  •  Actively identify & evaluate opportunities where BBA can provide solutions and develop activities
  •  Develop strategies to increase the array of clients and meet our five-year strategic plan targets
  •  Develop and negotiate MSAs, Contracts, T&C’s or other strategic teaming agreements
  •  Prepare proposals and tender responses (including estimates) and deliver professional presentations
  •  Support a work-sharing model with BBA offices across Canada
  •  Lead, supervise and coordinate the activities of Client Account Managers in BC
  •  Develop and support Sales and Business Development processes, including but not limited to: strategic plan, annual sale plan, account management plan, proposal process, risk management, stewardship and performance management 
 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Diploma in Technology, or equivalent
  • Master’s degree in Business and Administration (MBA) would be an asset
  • Registered Professional Engineer would be an asset
  • Experience in consulting or construction
  • Dynamic entrepreneurship, technical savvy and a highly developed business acumen
  • Team player with proven record of building a dynamic and effective team
  • Client focused; demonstrated expertise managing relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Skilled at interacting with clients and colleagues and to work with the team from project inception to completion
  • Action oriented, see the big picture, understand the strategies and translate them into action
  • Skilled communicator; able to express ideas, present a sale, actively listen to client/colleague need and close the loop
  • Ability to travel frequently
  • Ability to manage significant sophisticated accounts
  • Ability to demonstrate technical and business leadership
  • Ability to communicate complex and technical information
  • Rigorous and focused with attention to details
