Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, this newly created foundational leadership role will provide strategic direction and thought leadership necessary to ensure sound decision-making and oversight of Ontario Health’s Population Health and Value Based Health Systems Portfolio, as well as to define and champion Ontario Health’s vision, mission and values. The role encompasses but is not limited to, the Ontario Telemedicine Network (virtual care); development and implementation of innovations in patient- and caregiver-centred care; and the development of Ontario Health Teams. This is an exciting opportunity to shape, develop and deliver essential frameworks, programs, and policies within Ontario Health and across the health system related to the overall health of the population, including the equitable distribution of health regardless of ethnicity, income or place of residence; improved experiences for both system users and health care providers; and a high-performing health system defined by common values and a people-centred focus to improve health experiences and outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader in the health care sector, with a master’s degree in health economics, health sciences, health care or health administration and at least 10 years’ relevant leadership experience within the health care sector or similarly complex service delivery environment. You have shown a strong focus on assessing and improving patient/resident/client and provider experiences and outcomes, as well as overall health systems performance and population health outcomes. You have demonstrated success in leading significant transformation initiatives and a clear commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism.

Location: the successful candidate can be located anywhere in Ontario, with a potential for some travel to Ontario Health and/or stakeholder locations.
