Summary:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for promoting and selling services of Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services . Qualified candidates must be able to identify and provide solutions for the logistics needs of customers and prospects. Must be innovative, intuitive, responsive, organized and analytical. Must possess solid sales fundamentals to include presentation skills, account analysis and development, and sales prospecting. Encompasses the ability to positively influence team members, offer guidance and lead special projects.

Some of the specific job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Achieve and exceed quarterly KPIs & financial objectives
  • Prospect new clients by way of industry referrals, networking, researching, etc.
  • C ollect, compile, verify, and analyze financial, competitive, sales, marketing, and other information about potential business partners, new markets, products and services, or other business opportunities
  • Understand prospective clients' unique shipping requirements via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings
  • Effectively manage a consistent pipeline to ensure leads are converted to landed accounts
  • Design and execute a business development strategy for each account that provides continuous, profitable growth
  • Approach quoting opportunities strategically to maximize profit and growth
  • Prepare for client business reviews and provide ongoing feedback in support of continuous improvement opportunities

Responsibilities
  • Serve as e xpert in functional knowledge of the products, services , and operations offered by the compan y , with t he ability to complete a quick gap analysis of the current supply chain at a customer site and suggest potentially improved operations
  • M aintain highest knowledge of relevant technologies, emerging business/ industry trends, competitive technical direction and product direction
  • Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as cold calling and face to face meetings along with indirect methods such as networking and utilizing social media platforms
  • Establish relationships and secure contracts with new customers as you are building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline
  • Establish customer contact and rapport to maintain awareness of the customer's business objectives in conjunction with ongoing account maintenance
  • Interact with sales teams to create and develop business opportunities/solutions to grow both market and wallet share
  • Serve as the primary interdepartmental interface for resolution of customer & operational issues
  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales
  • Manage the RFP process to include solution design concepts, deadlines, supply added information, presentation, process/status tracking
  • Maintain predetermined number of target accounts and demonstrate active attention to those accounts while progress toward closing
  • Perform all the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications
  • This is a senior management position ; e xceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience specific to supply chain logistics or global transportation
  • Minimum 10 years of related functional experience within contract logistics sales and business development
  • Outside B2B Sales experience with demonstrated history of sales achievements in a base plus commission environment with experience closing sales at the executive level
  • Must have strongly developed persuasive skills and proven negotiation skills
  • Effective planning and organization necessary to schedule appointments appropriately and meet reporting deadlines
