We are seeking a Machine Shop Supervisor to join our team in Oakville, ON.

- Supervises the daily activities and sets priorities for the machining team based on schedule demands in a fast pace environment
- Ensuring the most efficient use of all equipment and processes within the machining department to meet cost, on time delivery and quality requirements.
- Identify immediate and potential safety hazards and take appropriate steps to control and/or eliminate them in a timely manner.
- Establish a healthy, safe and team-oriented work environment and collaborate with the team to ensure production plans are understood and followed.
- Set performance goals and provide ongoing feedback on the achievement of those goals – ensure employees are recognized.
- Ensure that all Quality System policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Demonstrate ongoing continuous improvement by applying lean principles in production planning (uptime, output), plant maintenance, scrap loss, etc.
- Ensure completion and timely submission of all documentation related to process.
- Proactively assess and address the training needs of team members (health & safety, machining process, products, lean/six sigma, etc.)
- Work closely with Additive, Engineering, Quality and planning teams to ensure the highest quality product is produced.
- Enforce and adhere to company policies and as applicable.
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in in CNC machine setup and tool setup
- Minimum 5 years of experience in precision 3 and 5 axis CNC milling using Fanuc controllers
- Proficient in CNC programming 3 and 5 axis using MasterCam/EdgeCam
- Strong knowledge of CNC turning
- Proficient in blueprint reading, precision measurement and GD&T
- Experience in operating and programming Wire/Sink EDM is an asset
- Experience in post machining of Additive Manufactured parts is an asset
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
- Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of Aerospace documentation and specifications.
- Supervisory experience in a plant or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications (i.e. MS Office applications).
