Ontario Health is the provincial agency created by the Government of Ontario with a mandate to connect and coordinate our province’s health care system to help ensure that Ontarians receive the best possible care. Since it was established in June 2019, we have brought together 21 existing health care organizations, leveraging our combined world class experience, knowledge and expertise to support better health care and outcomes for the province.

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, these three newly created regional leadership roles will have direct responsibility for the region’s operational and system planning as well as programs and performance. Each role will lead distinct regions with one covering Central and West, one for Toronto and East, and one dedicated to the North, maintaining five Ontario Health regions. As senior leaders, the positions will engage with our provincial programs as our front door to all stakeholders in the region.  The positions will be responsible for regional planning and performance management, transition planning, provider funding, contracts and accountability as well as local health equity.

The Chief Regional Officers will also provide senior leadership to provincial strategic roll-out of key programs (e.g., digital health, supply chain management, and mental health) and provide clinical leadership and stakeholder engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to shape, develop essential programs within the Ontario Health regions.

Ideal candidates are proven leaders in the health care sector with a master’s degree in health or business administration, finance, economics, or public administration, and at least 10 years’ relevant leadership experience in a large-scale, complex service delivery environment. You possess superior administrative expertise, relationship management skills and experience in improving complex processes to deliver on overall regional health system performance. You have demonstrated success in leading significant transformation initiatives and a clear commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism. Bilingualism is considered an asset.
