BC Assessment (BCA) is a provincial Crown Corporation created in 1974 with a mandate to establish and maintain real property assessments that are uniform in the whole of British Columbia. We produce an annual Assessment Roll that contains fair, equitable, independent and trusted property assessments for over two million properties in the province. These assessments play a vital role in the property tax system that generates more than $8.6 billion annually to support services that people count on in BC communities, schools, libraries, emergency services, infrastructure, parks and recreation and roads.

As one of the leading property assessment organizations in the world, BC Assessment (BCA) has also been recognized as one of the best employers in British Columbia, and has been awarded one of Canada’s Most Admired Cultures. Due to a recent retirement, BCA is looking for a progressive and innovative IT leader to take on this key leadership role.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Information & Technology Services (CIO) is accountable to establish and execute the enterprise-wide IT strategy and ensures its alignment with BCA’s business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success. As a member of the executive leadership team, the CIO participates in and contributes to the development of the overall enterprise business strategy, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of leveraging information and technology in business model design, business processes re-engineering and services development. This position has responsibility for the overall vision and strategy of integrating and leveraging technology solutions that meet current and future internal and external customer needs.

The ideal candidate is a senior IT professional with strategic agility, change management, project management and people leadership skills who has a reputation for enabling solutions to meet the goals of a service driven organization. An ability to motivate and inspire a team of professionals to higher levels of customer service and achievement while moving forward on strategic organization-wide initiatives will be key to this individual’s success. Working closely with the executive team, the new CIO will understand how to enable the business to transform digitally while thinking innovatively about where the industry is headed in the future.
