As an officer of the Legislative Assembly, the Provincial Auditor will foster excellence in public sector management and accountability for the province of Saskatchewan. Leading a team of professionals, the Provincial Auditor is responsible for reviewing and reporting on the appropriateness and reliability of accountability for government operations, on the management systems and practices in a wide range of government organizations, and for identifying opportunities and proposing solutions for better systems and business practices. The professional and personal credibility earned through the career achievements of the successful candidate will be integral in maintaining the public trust and in protecting the independence of the work of this office.

Our candidate of choice will have extensive public sector audit management experience with demonstrated success as a leader of vision and insight for people and organizations. You will have an in-depth working knowledge of Canadian accounting, audit, and assurance standards, complex information systems auditing, the theory and practice of accountability in large public sector organizations, and the implementation of sound policies, programs and services. You will have demonstrated the ability to achieve outcomes based on strategic direction. You will be a member of, or eligible for membership in, the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Saskatchewan and be licensed as a member, or eligible for licensing as a member, to practice professional accounting as defined by The Accounting Profession Act (Saskatchewan).

The Provincial Auditor will be flexible in response to change and will lead the visioning, strategic planning, financial and personnel management for all aspects of the Office of the Provincial Auditor. You will have exceptional communication skills and proven consultative and advisory abilities.
