Brescia is Canada’s only women’s university. Reporting to the Principal of Brescia University College, the Executive Director, Advancement & Alumnae Relations (chief fundraising officer) is responsible for the general administration, organization and management of Brescia’s advancement activities. These activities include major gifts, annual campaign, special events and planned giving programs, major campaigns, and alumnae relations. The Executive Director, Advancement & Alumnae Relations works closely with Brescia leaders (particularly the Principal’s Cabinet), with Brescia’s Advancement Committee of the Board and with the Board of Trustees to advance Brescia’s mission and to increase awareness and community engagement. The Executive Director also works with the Finance, Audit and Investment Committee of the Board to ensure that Brescia’s endowment and investments are managed effectively.
As the ideal candidate, you have a successful record of accomplishment and leadership in fundraising. You have proven strengths in building and sustaining long-term relationships and demonstrate integrity when dealing with donors, volunteers, alumni, senior administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Known as a strategic thinker with sound judgement, you have experience in managing and being accountable for budgets and resources. You have a current understanding of advancement and fundraising regulations, procedures, platforms and best practices. You are comfortable at both leading and working as part of the team and are able to move easily between administrative activities and strategic and externally focused activities. Your values are aligned with Brescia’s and you have a passion for women’s education and its importance for today’s and future generations.
