<p><strong>BC Public Service</strong></p> <p><strong>Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training </strong></p> <p><strong>Victoria</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Director, Indigenous Programs </strong></p> <p><strong>Bring your passion for Reconciliation to this leadership role and work with Indigenous communities to co-design, deliver and evaluate skills training leading to sustainable employment and positive socioeconomic outcomes </strong></p> <p><strong>Salary $73,400.00 - $101,900.00 annually</strong><br /> <br /> The Workforce Innovation and Division Responsible for Skills Training enables all British Columbians to reach their full potential by advancing innovative workforce policies, programs and labour market information, including providing skills training opportunities across the province that leads to sustainable employment. The Program Design and Delivery Branch is responsible for designing, administering, assessing and continually improving skills training and employment programs to assist unemployed, underemployed and employed British Columbians acquire the skills needed for jobs in demand and an ever evolving labour market.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Director, Indigenous Programs is responsible for overseeing the planning, administration and continuous improvement of programs that are designed with Indigenous communities for Indigenous communities.&nbsp;The position has a leadership role in ensuring that the design, delivery and evaluation of Indigenous skills training and employment programs are aligned with UNDRIP and TRC.</p> <p><strong>Qualifications for this role Include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree in Law, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.</li> <li>A minimum of two (2) years of progressive and recent related senior level experience in each of the following:</li> <li>Drafting senior-level decision-making documents (examples include: Cabinet or Treasury Board Submissions, PowerPoint presentations, briefing notes, policy papers).</li> <li>Leading a professional multi-disciplinary team in a busy working environment.</li> <li>Leading complex, multi-party projects to the satisfaction of all parties.</li> <li>Providing strategic advice to senior decision-makers, such as government, board members, CEOs, or others.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Working with federal, provincial, territorial and/or First Nations governments to influence strategic projects of mutual interest.</li> <li>Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit). <p><strong>For more information and to apply by January 6, 2019, please go to:</strong></p> <p><a href="https://bcpublicservice.hua.hrsmart.com/hr/ats/Posting/view/56628">https://bcpublicservice.hua.hrsmart.com/hr/ats/Posting/view/56628</a></p> </li> </ul>
