Chief Governance & Partnership Officer CGPO

The Indigenous Tourism Association of BC (ITBC) invites tourism leaders to join our team as the Chief Governance & Partnership Officer (CGPO).

This position will be one member of an executive team that works within a collaborative and consensus-decision making model where all Chief Officers report directly to the ITBC Board of Directors.

This position is responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders, government partners and Indigenous communities, including preparation of funding proposals, MOUs and other agreements
  • Collaborating with and building regional tourism partners and leading the Regional Indigenous Tourism Specialists
  • Building and improving board governance structures and communications
  • Managing and developing organizational policy and bylaws, and including strategic plan development
  • Overseeing strategic development and planning
  • Additional duties may apply

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of BC First Nations governance and community structures and values
  • Proven knowledge of the tourism industry and its relation to First Nations
  • Proven experience in a senior managerial position or CEO, or related positions
  • Demonstrate executive level: communication and literacy skills (oral and written), computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint, Social media), facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Other: Diploma or Degree in Business, Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
