As an Operations Manager (Afternoon shift), you will lead our operations team at our Eastern Canada Distribution Centre. Our Operation supports all forward and reverse logistics. We service both brick and mortar and ecommerce enterprises. Our goal is to develop a highly engaged team that will meet the operating efficiencies, profit and volume targets specified by the Enterprises Supply Chain strategies. We drive a c ulture of continuous improvement using tools including elements of Lean/5S as well as Six Sigma. We empower our team to collaborate on ideas to improve results and to invest in improving and increasing the individual skills and talents. We have been very successful in meeting these goals in a very competitive and shifting retail climate.
As an Operations Manager you will...
- • Monitor and manage KPI performance as well as P&L results • Review forecasts and productivity and capacity trends and utilize to set goals and targets • Identify areas for improved efficiency and opportunities for cost reduction within the operation • Live and foster the company values building on the team culture and environment • Support Process Improvement and Special Projects both internal and enterprise wide • Centre/ Reverse Logistics/ Home Delivery Fulfillment/ Web Returns/ Commercial Sales/My Store Fulfilment • Ability to support and plan for seasonal volumes that result in a variable size of team and capacity • Ownership of the handling, storage and distribution of Best Buy Canada products to the end consumer. This facility is a high-volume environment • Develop and manage relationships with internal and external customers, transportation and other critical departments as they relate to customer service, quality, safety, productivity and cost • Maintain an ongoing system for recruitment, leadership development, recognition and retention of all associates to maintain workforce stability • Plan and maintains a system of regular communication of company objectives, changes and concerns • Effectively manage warehouse utilization and resolve exceptions to daily operation • Plans and maintains a system of regular communication of company objectives, changes and concerns. Collaborate with team across the company to share best practices and maintain compliance • Ensures safe work practices and procedures are in place, are being followed, and that staff are adequately trained for the jobs they perform. • Other duties as assigned

Here's what we need...
- • Afternoon availability from 2:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Also ability to provide after-hours support to a 24 X 7 operation for critical issues • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or relevant field - P.Log designation an asset • 8+ years of supply chain experience, including warehouse, fulfillment, transportation and inventory experience with at least 3 years at the manager level leading multi-unit teams • Knowledge and experience with Six sigma, Lean and other continuous improvement projects • Extensive knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedures • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel PowerPoint and business management software • Demonstrated leadership/manager skills, and conflict resolution skills. • Demonstrated planning/ organizing skills, and customer service skills. • Ability to drive positive change in both processes and systems and culture
