Job Description

  

Job Summary: ​

Performs in-house servicing and repair of company products at established company repair site or service center. Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures. Performs maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products. Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and service ability issues. Communicate with field-based technicians for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair as needed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works from service manuals, schematics, test procedures and wiring diagrams to repair equipment and return to serviceable condition
  • Performs troubleshooting using test equipment and knowledge of electronics to identify and correct deficiencies in equipment using standard practices for repair of electronic equipment
  • Ship and receive goods, documents, and the like for entire office.
  • Load, test, & analyze software images & firmware for Enterprise Security products
  • Establishes and maintains good customer relations and provides customer service via phone, chat, or e-mail in accordance with company goals
  • Maintains appropriate records pertaining to repairs and maintenance
  • Document “how-to” knowledge and known issues within online knowledge base
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Computer Technology, or equivalent field
  • Three years of experience servicing and repairing CCTV cameras, keyboards, encoders, NVRs, & the like
  • Two years of experience setting up hardware and configuring software & drivers
  • Working knowledge of basic electronics, such as Ohms Law, voltage drops, AC/DC circuits, etc.
  • Fundamental base of IT knowledge
  • Fundamental understanding of Windows Operation Systems, including installation, troubleshooting, & management

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • One or more entry/mid-level IT certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, DELL TechDirect, etc.
  • One or more industry related certifications, such as IPVM Camera Course, IPVM Advanced Video Surveillance, manufacturer-based camera training, or the like
  • Prior field experience installing, servicing and troubleshooting security systems and associated hardware
  • Familiarity with MJPEG, MPEG4, H.264 and video compression technologies
  • Real world experience in IP networking covering LAN and WAN hardware (routers, firewalls, etc.) configuration, wireless, low level protocol knowledge (RTP, TCP/IP, UDP), IGMP and Multicasting
  • Fundamental knowledge/experience of:
    • Storage solutions (DAS, NAS, SAN)
    • ActiveX, JavaScript or HTML
    • Configuration and maintenance of complex switched and routed networks

Working Conditions:
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours when needed
  • Ability to communicate, sit, stand, walk, reach and twist frequently
  • Employee must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Employee is occasionally required to lift 30-50 pounds
  • Travel up to 10% domestically and abroad
