Phoenix Society is located on the shared, unceded traditional territory of the Katzie, Semiahmoo, Kwantlen, Musqueam, and other Coast Salish Peoples.

Serving communities throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, Phoenix Society is an accredited and licensed multi-service agency dedicated to providing accessible services and opportunities to people who face barriers related to addiction, mental health, housing, education, criminal justice involvement and/or employment. Since 1989, Phoenix has grown from an idea, to its first programs and is now a multi-faceted, integrated service provider that offers a variety of programs and support services, including Bed-Based Substance Use Treatment, Supportive Housing, Employment, Extreme Weather Shelters, Community Corrections, Counselling, Home Ownership and Outreach Programs.

A key purpose of the Society is to provide housing and support services for people at multiple entry points on the continuum; Phoenix develops community-based projects that meet people where they are at, helping participants exit the cycle of addiction and homelessness.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of People, Culture and Diversity is responsible for ensuring strategic, effective, consistent, and legal people practices and policies throughout the organization. The Director will oversee all Human Resources functions including labour relations, occupational health & safety, benefits, recruitment, training and development, communications, and compliance. In addition, the Director will develop plans and practices in support of the organization’s commitments related to diversity and inclusion. The Director will lead initiatives to foster a culture of respect through programs, education, and awareness building.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced human resources leader with a proven track record of expertise across all facets of complex human resources programming, including labour relations, total compensation, recruitment and retention, performance management, and best practice policy development, ideally in the community service and non-profit sector.
