BC Housing is a provincial Crown Corporation that develops, manages and administers a wide range of subsidized housing options for those most in need across the province to address critical gaps across the housing continuum ranging from emergency shelter through to rent assistance in the private market and affordable home ownership. Share in the rewards of working with an organization that offers challenging work and competitive compensation and supports the growth and development of its people.

The mission and vision of BC Housing could not be clearer: “making a positive difference in people’s lives and communities through safe, affordable and quality housing”. As such, the AVP plays a key part in the Development and Asset Strategies team to promote BC Housing’s role in the creation of new supply of housing with affordable rental, purpose-built rental, affordable home ownership and innovative affordable housing concepts and models for British Columbians. The AVP will focus on business performance planning and reporting out on business operational activities and will develop, communicate, and execute on sustaining strategic initiatives for the Branch.

The successful candidate will provide leadership in the planning, designing, and implementation of strategic operational objectives and monitoring the execution of the strategic plan while never losing sight of the purpose of BC Housing in creating an effective roadmap in achieving results. As BC Housing embarks on an unprecedented level of government and partner-led housing construction – the largest of its kind in Canada – the AVP has a multi-faceted role of working with a broad range of external and internal stakeholders, including government, to ensure effective alignment of corporate goals and strategies.

To be successful, an ideal candidate will bring proven management experience in a corporate setting or within a strategic consulting practice environment, combined with a related post-secondary degree. Dedicated to collaboration and leveraging the strengths of team members and partners, the AVP will have a natural ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally. The selected candidate will bring experience moving agendas forward in a multi-partner environment and have demonstrated capacity in creating a positive work environment with a focus on service delivery.
