Starting salary: $86, 703 per annum. 

Travel: Some travel required once travel restrictions allow

Amnesty International Canadian Section (English Speaking) also known as AICSES is looking for a Manager of Monthly Giving and Data to provide leadership to the Monthly Giving Program and ensure that our ambitious targets are met, and the data and donor response systems and processes are of the highest possible standard.  

Monthly Giving is Amnesty International Canada’s largest fundraising program, providing more than $10 million in income annually, with program expenses of about $3 million annually. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, this position will lead a team and provide overall strategic leadership in the areas of budgeting, reporting, donor recruitment, stewardship and retention, reactivation, recovery, upgrading and additional gifts. In addition, the Manager of Monthly Giving and Data will ensure that our database meets the needs of various fundraising programs particularly in the areas of reporting, information capture and retrieval for maximizing donor giving, engagement and cultivation.  

The Manager of Monthly Giving and Data will join Amnesty International Canada during an exciting time as the organization moves forward with its new strategic framework. This individual will work closely with colleagues across the section to contribute to improving processes, practices, systems and tools to ensure they are equitable, transparent, and efficient, and support the strategic objectives of the organization, promote its vision, mission and values. 

Your experience as and demonstrable successes in fundraising and particularly monthly giving and data, will help Amnesty International Canada strengthen its reputation as a leader in human rights both internally and externally. WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Coordinate and provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the monthly giving program 

  • Lead the planning process to create annual plans for each key area of activity in the program which include recruitment, retention, recovery, and re-activation with an overall plan for the program 
  • Create annual budgets for income and expenditures including tracking progress, creating reports, and considering the appropriate balance of investment in testing new initiatives and in the various ongoing activities 
  • Provide leadership to the Monthly Giving & Data team including coaching, mentorship, and performance discussions that support learning and professional development 

 

Provide leadership in the areas of data, analytics, and insight 

  • Facilitate the data maturity journey of the Fundraising Team through close collaboration with the ITS department 
  • Lead the development of standardized KPIs (key performance indicators), business rules and reports that the Fundraising Team need to guide strategy development and program and performance evaluation  
  • Promote the tech equity and accessibility in data collection and reporting processes by implementing necessary modification in CRMs and/or fundraising software 
  • Ensure integrity of data entry though improving coding, data entry and verification systems as required  
  • Liaise with colleagues to improve systems, processes and ensure excellence, equity and transparency in our donor communications and processing systems 

Other responsibilities: 

  • Provide support to the Director of Fundraising and being the designate for various projects as needed 
  • Liaise with the colleagues in Finance and Administration in matters related to budgeting, calendarization of revenue and expenses, assignment of account numbers and other items of mutual relevance 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned 

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A CANDIDATE 

Amnesty International Canada is seeking an individual that has a proven track record and excellence in fundraising and individual giving strategies and implementation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in creating strategies that drive growth in income, managing and analyzing data, offering strategic data driven recommendations, coaching, and leading a team, and views problems as opportunities for creative solutions and innovation. Experience in the non-profit sector, human rights and anti-racism and anti-oppression capabilities are an advantage. 

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES: 

  • Proven success in raising funds through individual giving 
  • 3-5 years of equivalent experience and qualifications OR 3 years of education in a related field (e.g. monthly giving program with direct experience of having created recruitment, retention, recovery, upgrading and re-activation strategies) with a minimum of 3 years’ related experience 
  • Knowledge of best practices in terms of managing and analyzing data in fundraising Customer Relationship Management systems and leveraging this data to create strategies to grow income 
  • A proven people manager with at least 3 years of experience in managing a team 
  • Proven experience creating and tracking income budgets 
  • Experience working with vendors doing face to face recruitment, telemarketing to donors and prospects and digital lead generation 
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to advise, effectively engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders 
  • Knowledge, training and experience in anti-racism, anti-oppression, anti-Black racism, anti-discrimination, and decolonizing practices 
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and create long-term and annual fundraising plans to drive growth in terms of income and donor numbers 
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and abilities including dealing constructively with conflict and the ability to work collaboratively and productively with team members 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines 
  • Proven skills in problem-solving, consultation, and negotiating with staff at all levels as well as highly discreet in managing sensitive matters 
  • Proven ability to work successfully with a diverse population and in applying anti-racism, anti-oppression, diversity, equity, and inclusion principles 
  • Proven commitment to self-development in the principles of anti-racism, anti-oppression, diversity, equity and inclusion 
  • Proven ability to apply an intersectional lens to your work to achieve anti-oppression in practice
