The University of Windsor is actively seeking an experienced and forward-thinking academic leader to serve as their next Dean, Odette School of Business. The Dean will join the University of Windsor at an exciting time as it launches its new strategic plan to guide the institution’s decision making over the next five years, and at a time when the Windsor-Essex region has become home to new corporate and industrial investment.

The University of Windsor is situated on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations: the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi.  The University is a regionally focused, globally connected, comprehensive university with more than 16,000 students enrolled in a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The Odette School of Business offers the following degrees: B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration) Co-operative Education, B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration), B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration and Computer Science) Co-operative Education, B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration and Economics), B.Comm. (Honours Business Administration and Computer Science), among others. It also offers multiple MBA programs, an integrated MBA/JD, and a Master of Management. There are approximately 1,200 undergraduate students, and 500 Masters-level students. The Business School has strong contacts with business and other academic institutions. The School has recently completed an expansion strategy with approximately 62 full-time faculty positions currently. The school has been AACSB accredited since 2015. The Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) at the University of Windsor is a campus-wide initiative created to encourage entrepreneurship on campus, and to support students and graduates interested in launching their own businesses. Reporting to the Provost and Vice President Academic, the Dean of the Odette School of Business provides strategic and operational leadership over the governance and academic priorities of the School. The Dean is responsible for serving the School, as a collegial leader to faculty, staff, and students and advancing excellence in all the School’s endeavours. As the public face of the Odette School, the Dean serves as its external ambassador and champion, building relationships with community groups, industry, government and alumni. Fostering an innovative, forward-thinking and inclusive environment, the Dean will nurture Odette’s decanal team of faculty, students and staff to ensure continued improvement and development of Odette’s portfolio of programs and services to support diverse students’ learning, needs and success, as well as continued growth of the Odette School of Business.

As the ideal candidate, you have proven experience as an engaging and collaborative leader, with a passion for student success and demonstrated strength in mentoring, building collaborative teams and leading change in a complex unionized environment. Along with in-depth knowledge of the post-secondary education environment, educational governance expertise, and appropriate research accomplishments, the new Dean brings outstanding communication and relationship building skills. You have demonstrated strong commitment to the calls to action in education of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility and will support and promote these values in your role as Dean. Leading by example to achieve transformation, the ideal candidate has experience putting excellent strategic initiatives into operation. You also possess a record of successful academic planning, budget management and resources allocation. You have demonstrated effective engagement with external constituents and interested parties, and look forward to promoting the objectives, achievements, and future contributions of the Odette School of Business. The Dean will also hold a PhD in a related discipline, a distinguished record of academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to research, teaching, and learning in a discipline aligned with the Odette School of Business.
