The Ivey Business School at Western University seeks candidates for a full time, limited term faculty position in the area of Information Systems. Applicants will be considered for appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor to be determined by candidate qualifications and experience. The position is available to begin in July 2023, although alternate dates may be arranged. The appointment will be for up to three years with the potential for renewal.

 

The creation of this new faculty role represents an expansion of the Information Systems area to address the increasing influence of information technology on both organizations and society. The focus of the role will be to teach about the commercialization of information systems and in particular, digital technologies, within the curriculum of the HBA, MBA, EMBA and MSc programs.

 

Information Systems courses are taught in student centered, case-based classes supplemented with experiential learning practica. Core course titles include Leveraging Information Technology, Digital Transformation, Digital Platform Implementation and Digital Innovation Studio among others.

 

Candidates are expected to have Masters or PhD (or nearing PhD completion) degrees in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or other related fields. Demonstrated knowledge of the adoption and management of information systems as well as emerging technologies is considered essential. Candidates may have acquired this knowledge through practice, research or both. Previous teaching experience, experience in organizational learning or experience consulting in information systems topics is valued. Candidates are sought who have an interest in actively engaging with students as part of the Ivey educational experience; this may include teaching in Ivey’s executive development programs.
