MacEwan University, recognized under the Alberta Post-Secondary Learning Act as an undergraduate university, is the third largest university in Alberta and celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2021/22.

MacEwan provides a transformative education in a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Creativity thrives here—through research and innovation that engage students, faculty, and the community. We are focused on our students—providing them with choice and opportunities for success with a dynamic mix of undergraduate degrees, certificates, diplomas and degree-transfer programming. Programs and courses at MacEwan are offered through the Faculty of Arts and Science, Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications, Faculty of Health and Community Studies, Faculty of Nursing, the School of Business, and the School of Continuing Education.

Our new strategic framework, Teaching Greatness: Strategic Vision 2030, incorporates concepts of motion and change and embodies MacEwan’s history. The new vision is bold and aspirational, and it is about redoubling our emphasis on exceptional undergraduate teaching. Under this plan, MacEwan University seeks to grow. It commits to impactful scholarship. It commits to a distinctive student experience rooted in the downtown. It seeks to support and to celebrate further great undergraduate teaching. It aspires to deliver programming in more flexible ways. And MacEwan University pursues these things in ways that honour the institution’s place in O-day’min, the heart of Edmonton.

Formed in 2014, MacEwan’s School of Continuing Education (SCE) offers lifelong learning opportunities to enhance your career and life, through credit and ministry approved programs, as well as non-credit courses.
