Job Summary
The Finance Division of the City of Mississauga is looking for a Project Leader to take on various city-wide special projects. The incumbent will bring strong project management skills, strong communication skills and is responsible for managing and coordinating complex administrative projects or activities that require a high degree of specialized knowledge, conduct research, provide data, make recommendations, and implement solutions to achieve project goals and objectives.

The incumbent will bring strong project management skills, strong communication skills and is responsible for managing and coordinating complex administrative projects or activities that require a high degree of specialized knowledge, conduct research, provide data, make recommendations, and implement solutions to achieve project goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Business Services and Process Solutions, the Project Leader is directly accountable for:
- Managing and coordinating projects and activities between various divisions, City departments, public agencies, and/or private sector representatives.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders and conducting focus groups to arrive at solutions.
- Seeking and evaluating information from a variety of sources; providing specialized reports as requested by management.
- Overseeing coordination between divisions/departments throughout the duration of projects.
- Preparing and delivering presentations to senior management.
- Coordinating and preparing reports and correspondence in response to requests for information from various key stakeholders.
- Suggesting and implementing management solutions to address new or ongoing problems within department or division.
- Serving as departmental/divisional representative at conferences and meetings.
- Performing related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- University degree in Business or Public Administration, Commerce, Finance, Economics or related field.
- Project Management Professional designation will be an asset.
- 5-7 years related experience including some experience in a municipal or other public sector/ government environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of municipal operations, management and Lean certification would be an asset.
- Must have strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, lead complex work projects and ability to deal effectively with senior management, staff and consultants.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with related computer software applications
