Job Summary

The successful candidate is required to maintain a safe environment at City Wading Pools and provide helpful and friendly service to all users.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of the Celebration Square Water Feature and surrounding deck apron.
  • Maintain a safe environment for facility users.
  • Complete opening and closing checks of the Celebration Square Water Feature.
  • Record daily attendance of daily users.
  • Record water chemistry levels, when required.
  • Understand City programs and provide information to customers in a professional manner.
  • Attend and participate in required staff meetings/trainings.
  • Perform First Aid as required.
  • Completes accident/incident forms as well as follow up calls as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Skills and Qualifications

  • The successful candidate must possess a valid Standard First Aid & CPR C certification (from one of the following: Lifesaving Society, Canadian Red Cross Society, St. John Ambulance or the Canadian Ski Patrol) by May 17, 2024. The award must be current during the employment period.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must always be attentive to situations that may arise.
  • Ability to work in the Wading pool environment (outdoor).
  • Level 3 - Vulnerable Sector Check will be required of the successful candidate, as a condition of employment, at their own expense, to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted.
