Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manager of Standards and Training, the successful candidate will coordinate, develop, promote, administer, deliver, and facilitate a wide range of Departmental training, standards and processes for the City of Mississauga Community Services volunteer program.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the Volunteer Recognition Program
- Host various trainings for small and large groups (virtual and in person) and manage the volunteer training program.
- Manage the City of Mississauga Volunteer Opportunity Public Website
- Manage Volunteer Job Required Learning needs and collection
- Manage learning resources and materials for City Wide volunteer program
- Point Person for the Volunteer Management Software and train and attain access for all Volunteer Supervisors (Citywide). Promotes participation, cooperation and buy-in to build effective business relationships.
- Consultwith Subject Matter Experts in Communications, Human Resources, Health & Safety and Labour Relations
- Liaise with agencies and regulatory bodies that provide governance that affect volunteerism
- Chair the Volunteer Community of Practice Committee
- Manage Community Services Risk Assessments and lead other Departments creation of Risk Assessments for Citywide Volunteer Program
- Manage the Volunteer Job Descriptions for Community Services and aid in the development of Job Descriptions for city wide volunteer positions
- Facilitate and coordinate the development of volunteer operational standards based on client requirements, industry legislation, regulative and corporate policies for the Citywide Volunteer Program
- Attend high school and college volunteer fairs/functions and other relevant community functions.
- Subject Matter Expert for stakeholder volunteer initiatives (CAS, Transit, SWEP, Project etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Post secondary degree/diploma in recreation or related field with 3-5 years work experience in a leadership capacity in recreation programming, staff supervision training
- Experience in consulting, project management and strategic planning is essential
- Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, problem solving and decision making skills and superior oral and written communication and time management skills
- Certification in HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD).
- Experience with diverse customer groups and operational knowledge in a variety of service areas is an asset.
- Experience in Volunteer Management Software.
- Experience with Microsoft Work, Excel, One Note, Box, Outlook, Success Factors InSight Learning.
- LEAN White Belt certification is considered an asset
- Flexible hours required, evening and weekend during peak periods
