The Manager, Member Engagement is responsible for the development, leadership and analysis of CPA Alberta’s member engagement programs and services. These programs contribute to the development and engagement of members through member networks, allow members access to relevant resources and peer network support to contribute to their professional growth, and further develop their competencies to become leaders in their field. This role reports to the Director, Member Relations.

CPA Alberta has offices in Edmonton and Calgary and provides hybrid Telecommuting opportunities (working from home a maximum of 3 days a week).

What you bring

  • Chartered Professional Accountant in good standing with 5 years of progressive management experience. CPA Designation is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and empower others, develop staff and work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Experience leading the planning, organization and implementation of projects to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Experience developing and maintaining multiple stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven ability to represent an organization in a professional manner with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Motivated individual with proven initiative and curiosity to understand current CPA Alberta initiatives and ideas to enhance the value for members.

What you will be doing

  • Develop, deliver, support and review member volunteer frameworks, support programs, services and events for an increasingly diverse population of Alberta CPAs.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with internal management, members, employers, other provincial bodies, chapters, practitioner groups, ambassador groups, and other stakeholder groups.
  • Regular attendance and support at events including chapter events, public practitioner forums, conferences and convocations.
  • Contribute to on-going strategic and business planning processes including budget preparation and monitoring, and preparation of periodic reports.
  • Liaise with the Manager of Professional Development and Manager of Career Services to stay apprised of client learning opportunities and provide insights on client needs to support program planning.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, satisfaction, and value to membership.
  • Continue to establish a culture and operational structure of consistent delivery, innovation, cost optimization, partnerships, flexibility and nimbleness.
  • Provide supervision and coaching to direct report; giving regular feedback and recognition and actively participating in the regular performance review process.
  • Manage team to achieve agreed financial targets & operational metrics.

Working Specifications
