Salary: $ 92,918- $ 112,895 annually

As our Indigenous Cultural Navigator and Engagement Specialist, you will be at the forefront of shaping WorkSafeBC's approach to Indigenous relations. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Indigenous Relations, you will have a unique opportunity to forge strong connections between WorkSafeBC and Indigenous workers, employers, providers, and communities. Your work will focus on enhancing the customer experience and guiding our approach to supporting Claims, Prevention, and Assessments.

 

 

 

How you'll make a difference: You'll help WorkSafeBC engage in meaningful reconciliation and relationship building with Indigenous communities.

 

 

 

Where you'll work

 

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

 

 

 

In this role, you'll work primarily from your assigned office, with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.

 

 

 

  • Establish and nurture meaningful relationships with Indigenous workers, employers, providers, and communities. Serve as a vital resource for Indigenous clients, guiding them through organizational processes and enhancing their experience. Partner with diverse teams to drive initiatives that improve outcomes and support return to work for Indigenous injured workers. Spearhead key Indigenous engagement initiatives and manage various internal and external projects with impact.

 

 

We're looking for someone who can:

 

  • Communicate with kindness and actively listen to customer needs with empathy and compassion. Lead projects and work effectively within diverse teams. Think creatively to explore various resources to provide exceptional client support. Manage confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

 

 

Your background and experience

 

  • A degree in related fields A minimum of 6 years of experience in Indigenous relations, consulting, prevention, or disability management Demonstrates a deep understanding of Indigenous issues and an appreciation of the complexity and diversity of Indigenous Peoples and communities across BC. Must demonstrate lived experience within Indigenous communities We'll consider equivalent combinations of education and experience.
